Who is eligible? |
Doctoral and Masters level counseling students pursuing careers as professional counselors and Counselors in Residency. Applicants must be a member of The Virginia Association of Clinical Counselors. (To join, visit Membership Join/Renew Page; student memberships are $20, counselor in residence memberships are $40.)

Application details: |
Applicants must submit an essay (maximum 500 words) on the topic of Therapy, Life, and Death. One should address the following points:

Submissions will be judged by a panel of VACC Executive Board members. Content is important, but writing style and quality counts as well. You do not have to use APA format. Personal experiences and opinions are welcomed, as are opinions based on research. There is no right answer - be persuasive.
Submissions should be emailed to Michael Nahl at [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. Please include “VACC Fellowship” in the subject line. In addition to the essay, complete submissions will include applicant’s name, email address, phone number, and university (alma mater for recent graduates).
All submissions will be reviewed by the VACC Fellowship Committee. Two $1,000 fellowships will be awarded. Winners will be selected and notified via email in April, 2016, and announcements will be made in our newsletter and on our website. Winning entries will be published in the VACC newsletter.
